BUT HOW?
At CARES, we are currently facing an urgent need for financial support, and there are many reasons why your contribution matters. Our governmental contracts only cover 17% of our total budget, meaning the majority of our funding must come from donations and fundraising efforts. Essential costs like pet supplies, veterinary care, staff, building maintenance, fencing, leashes, pens, transports, insurance, and vaccinations all depend on this support. With inflation driving prices higher, particularly since the pandemic, the cost of maintaining these vital services has increased significantly. These are just the basics—there are also countless other needs that help make CARES a place donors can be proud of. Your contribution helps keep the shelter running and ensures every animal gets the care they deserve.
What's in it for me as a donor?
By contributing to our shelter, you can have confidence that your donation is going directly to the needs of the shelter. We are proud to be a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax deductable. While we have many areas you can directly contribute to, unspecified funds are delegated through our eleven member board of directors and applied toward our most-pressing needs.
What opportunities will my donation make possible for this organization?
The more you give, the more we can accomplish. Money gives our long term plan the ability to move forward from our humble beginnings of trying to feed and keep dogs and cats alive... to becoming a vibrant educational community center teaching our citizens the compassion that can only be learned from animal interaction.
Socialization, which increases adoption.
Education, which teaches children responsibility and compassion.
Spay and Neuter, which decreases the number of homeless animals on the street.
Transports, which provides overlooked animals to loving homes in other parts of the country.
Programs, which will provide needed support to low income pet owners.
What if I am unable to make a donation at this time?
You can volunteer! Our volunteers will play a vital role in the operations and success of Clarksdale Animal Rescue Effort and Shelter. They help in countless ways by socializing animals, petting cats, walking dogs, driving to meet transports, or passing out CARES flyers.
If you feel that you have some time, passion, and are dedicated to working with a caring and professional organization, we would love to hear from you! Your donations go directly to the benefit of the animals. They are spent on food, supplies, medical bills of spaying, neutering, puppy shots, etc. Your dollars also aid in completing the vision of the new shelter.
